Who we are
The Cayuga County Tobacco Free Coalition is a health advocacy group that works with the Cayuga County Tobacco Free Partnership to reduce the health and economic burden of tobacco use and increase awareness of tobacco control issues among community members and policy makers in Cayuga County.
What we believe
  • We believe that every Cayuga County resident has the right to breathe clean, smoke-free air where they live, work and play.
  • We believe that it is unacceptable for Cayuga County youth to be lured into a life of tobacco addiction by the deceptive actions of the tobacco industry.
  • We believe that every smoker deserves the support and resources to quit
Why do we believe?
  • Tobacco use remains the single most preventable cause of death in the United States.
  • More deaths are causes each year by tobacco use than by deaths from alcohol, illegal drug use, motor vehicle accidents, AIDS, murders and suicides combined.
  • 1 of every 5 deaths is caused by cigarette smoke.
  • Tobacco use causes – Cancer, Heart Disease and Lung Diseases.
  • Over 500,000 New Yorkers currently suffer from smoking related illnesses.
How do I join?
To prevent youth smoking and promote healthy communities, we need your help.
The Coalition is open to all citizens and community organizations in Cayuga County who support tobacco control. For more information on upcoming meetings please contact the Cayuga County Tobacco Free Partnership.
